Yes, divorce financial planning is a thing, and you need it.

Financial planning for divorce is as important as divorce itself. It can be complex, especially with intricacy of dividing assets in divorce or compensation structures. That’s where our our CDFA® professionals come in: to help you make well-informed settlement decisions. Whatever stage of divorce you’re in, we can help you with a variety of specialized services.

Pension Valuation  $300 Flat Fee

The money due to you at some time in the future is not worth nearly as much as it is today due to inflation, taxes, and interest rates. We will work with you to determine the proper valuation of this asset to ensure you get (or give up) what is fair.

Executive Compensation Valuation  $300/hour

Included: Restricted Stock, Employee Stock Options, RSUs, ISOs, NQSOs, etc.

We can help someone value their executive compensation to ensure a fair and equitable settlement during divorce in a number of ways.

If you are an executive, or someone who is married to one, and going through a divorce, it is important to ensure that your executive compensation is valued fairly. This ensures you can receive a fair and equitable settlement.

401(K) Community Property Valuation  $300/hour

In order to determine the fair market value of a 401(k) plan, a number of factors are considered, including the current balance of the account, the investment options available, and the fees associated with the plan. The value of the 401(k) may also be affected by the age of the participant, the length of time they have been contributing to the plan, and the tax implications of dividing the account.

Dividing a 401(k) can be a complex process, and this step is critical if you had a 401(k) that was started prior to marriage.

Lifestyle Analysis  $300/hour

This is critical for business owners that filter expenses through their business and need an accurate statement of real earnings to determine maintenance and/or income levels.

Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) Drafting  $900-$1,200/QDRO FLAT FEE

Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) play a crucial role in the division of retirement and pension benefits between spouses in a divorce. A QDRO is a legal order that establishes the rights of an alternate payee, typically the non-employee spouse, to receive a portion of the retirement and/or pension benefits. Prices range from $900-$1,200 depending on complexity, per QDRO.

Post-Divorce Transition Assistance  $300/hour

Post-divorce financial planning through transition assistance can help people adjust to the changes in their lives after a divorce. It can provide emotional support, and practical help with things like finances and child care.
